The fly point difference is the one that ends the argument for an installed system. A cabinet without rated fly points should not be suspended over people at all.
Choose the ZLX-12P G2 for most small and mid-size churches
For a room up to about 250 seats with a blended service, the ZLX has the output and the pattern control to do the job properly. Choose the K12.2 for depth, level and permanence
Headroom is the honest reason to pay more. A speaker running near its limiter sounds compressed and harsh, and a congregation notices that long before it notices frequency response. In a 400 seat room with a full band, the K12.2 is coasting where the ZLX is working, and the difference is audible on loud choruses.
The conical pattern is the second reason. Seventy-five degrees in both planes means the box covers the same angle whether upright, flown, or on its side, so aiming is predictable and a volunteer cannot get it badly wrong. Which pattern fits a typical church?
Most church rooms are wider than they are deep relative to the platform, which favours the 90 degree horizontal of the ZLX. Long, narrow historic sanctuaries favour the 75 degree conical of the QSC. Do both work as stage monitors?
Both have a monitor angle on one face and both will work as a wedge, but neither is ideal because a main cabinet on the floor aims a lot of energy at open microphones. If wedges are part of the plan, a dedicated monitor cabinet or a move to in-ear monitoring is the better answer.
Can I add a subwoofer to either?
